EMS Programs
Emergency Medical Responder
The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course is an 80-hour classroom-only, instructor-led, and skills-based program that introduces students to the concepts of prehospital medicine. EMR is ideal for firefighters, police officers, industry workers, lifeguards, or any other individual who may be on the scene of an emergency before more trained EMS professionals arrive. Areas of study include, but are not limited to: basic human anatomy, airway management, CPR/AED resuscitation, and management of medical and traumatic emergencies.
This program is the perfect fit for someone looking for medical training who does not have the time to go through a longer and more formal EMS program. Upon successful completion of the class, eligible students will sit for the State of Indiana Emergency Medical Responder written and practical skills examinations for certification. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 14 years of age No felony convictions (misdemeanors reviewed on a case-by-case basis) CERTIFICATIONS INCLUDED: AHA Basic Life Support (i.e., CPR) Prehospital Trauma Life Support
